'Bit of a shocker': 14 nurses at 1 Wisconsin hospital are pregnant at the same time
Ashlyn Short, RN, said it was a "a little bit of a shocker" to learn that so many of her colleagues were pregnant at the same time.

Oh, how the tables have turned. Fourteen nurses at a Wisconsin birthing center are expecting babies of their own.
Ahead of Mother's Day, the HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Women and Infant Center in Green Bay shared that more than a dozen of its registered nurses are expecting babies this year.
"This is an incredible full-circle moment for many of our nurses, some of which are about to become first time moms themselves," HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Women and Infant Center Director Amy Bardon said in a news release. "Each of these women were already baby experts in their own rights, but for many of them their firsthand experience offering care to an infant, and moms for that matter, is about to further deepen."
'A little bit of a shocker'
Penned the "expert mom" by her colleagues, Ashlyn Short, RN, is expecting her fifth child in August. She's worked at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital since 2013 and the Women and Infant Center specifically since 2015.
Though the Women and Infant Center is tight knit, like a "big family," Ashley Schiles, RN, told Paste BN, the women were surprised at just how many of their colleagues were all expecting this year.
It was "a little bit of a shocker," Short told Paste BN with a laugh.
Many of the women are friends in and out of work and Short said she's enjoyed being able to provide tips and tricks to the first-time moms. Her four children, who are 2, 4, 7 and 9, have also found it "pretty fun" seeing their mom's face on television, as the 14 women have been featured on programs like "Good Morning America."
