Roughly a pound of marijuana was found by a customer at a newly opened discount store in Iowa.

The marijuana was found within a sealed bag and postal box in one of the bins at Where Ya Bin in Clive, Iowa, on May 23, according to police. The Clive Police Department received a report about the unusual bargain bin find and responded to the store to investigate.

The package was purchased at a bulk sale and had no sender address on it, Mark Rehberg, Clive's police chief, told The Des Moines Register, part of the Paste BN Network.

Can police track the marijuana found at Where Ya Bin?

Undeliverable packages can eventually be sold off as an overstock, which is how Where Ya Bin came into possession of the postal box. Without any records associated with the package, it is difficult for Clive police to determine where it came from, Rehberg said.

"There is really no way to determine where it came from, who it was mailed from, where it was supposed to go to," he said.

Where Ya Bin does have policies in place for these incidents and police told the store to contact the department if it happens again. The store did not have to close for the investigation.

"Drugs get sent through the mail all the time," Rehberg said. "To have a package not be delivered and then have a resale situation, that has never happened before. Now I can say it has."
