Suspect arrested in killing of couple hiking at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas

Corrections and clarifications: A previous version of this story misstated the suspect's name, based on information provided by Arkansas State Police. The suspect's name is Andrew James McGann.
A suspect has been arrested in the killings of an Arkansas couple who were hiking with their two small children at Devil’s Den State Park over the weekend, state police said July 30.
Andrew James McGann, 28, was arrested at 4:57 p.m. local time on July 30 at a business in Springdale, Arkansas, state police said in a news release. He was charged with two counts of capital murder.
“No news can heal the enormous harm done to the Brink family in last weekend’s crime, but this announcement is a comfort and reassurance for our State,” Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. "Let there be no mistake – we do not tolerate violent crime in Arkansas. If you target innocent people, law enforcement will hunt you down and bring you to justice."
The suspect's arrest comes after a dayslong manhunt, in which Arkansas State Police released a composite sketch of the man on July 28. State police previously said the suspect likely sustained an injury in the attack, but they did not specify the severity or type of injury.
Clinton David Brink, 43, and his wife, Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were fatally attacked while hiking with their two daughters at Devil's Den State Park on July 26, according to state police. The girls, who are 7 and 9 years old, were not injured and are safe with family members, police said.
The family had recently moved to the area from another state.
