CIA torture report tops Sunday talk shows

WASHINGTON — A congressional report citing findings of torture by the CIA will be top news on the network Sunday talk shows featuring several former Bush administration officials, including former Vice President Dick Cheney.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released the controversial report Tuesday about the CIA detention and interrogation of terrorist suspects after the 9/11 attacks.

Senate Democrats said some of the interrogations amounted to torture and didn't yield much useful intelligence. The report found that some interrogations were much more brutal than the CIA had disclosed and that officials had misled officials in George W. Bush's administration and members of Congress.

Some Republicans blasted the release of the report and argued the interrogations provide useful information.

Guests on the talk shows include several members of the Senate Intelligence Committee and some former CIA officials.

Here is the Sunday show lineup:

• CBS' Face the Nation: The interrogation report will be the show's focus, featuring interviews with Sens. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., and Angus King, I-Maine, both members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Chambliss is vice chairman of the committee.
