President Trump visits the PCU Gerald R. Ford, an aircraft carrier docked in eastern Virginia Thursday. He's expected to promote his proposal for a $54 billion hike in defense spending. The visit highlights a theme of his address to Congress Tuesday, in which he proposed "a budget that rebuilds the military, eliminates the defense sequester and calls for one of the largest increases in national defense spending in American history."
