Live stream: British PM May addresses election upset

British Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed she will stay in office despite calls for her to step down after her Conservative Party lost its majority in Parliament.

May called for an early election in hopes of securing a stronger majority as Britain heads into Brexit negotiations for leaving the European Union.

Her party actually lost a number of its existing seats, resulting in a so-called hung Parliament.

May addressed the election after getting the queen's permission to form a new government.
