Live stream: President Trump gives speech on immigration and border restrictions

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump plans to call for new limits on asylum claims. He is pushing the issue of immigration ahead of midterm elections next week that will decide the control of Congress. 

Trump says migrants attempting to enter the country must make asylum requests at legal points of entry, officials familiar with the plan told Paste BN.

Trump and his aides have complained for months that people have been allowed to claim asylum even when they enter the country illegally.

This speech comes as thousands of migrants traveling in a caravan make their way toward the U.S. border.
