WASHINGTON – The nation's golfer-in-chief says he's looking forward to this week's Masters tournament, though he declined to pick a favorite.

"You know there are 15 players capable of winning," President Donald Trump told reporters in the White House on Thursday when asked the about the annual major championship that began Thursday in Augusta, Georgia.

He did single out "Phil" (Mickelson), "Tiger" (Woods), and "Dustin" (Johnson), but added that "you have so many great players."

“I think it's going to be a great Masters," he said. "I hope so."

Trump been criticized for the amount of golf he plays as president at courses he owns.

His love of the game has even inspired a new critical book that accuses him of being a less-than scrupulous player.
