OnPolitics: Joe Biden and Donald Trump tie in new poll

Hi OnPolitics readers! We’re about a year from the 2024 presidential election, and President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are tied in a new Paste BN/Suffolk University Poll.

📷 Photo finish: Biden and Trump each command 37% of the vote in the poll, with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. costing Trump what would have been a narrow lead.

Kennedy, scion of the nation's most revered Democratic family, won 13% of the vote in a hypothetical match-up, drawing voters who by 2-1 said they would otherwise support the probable Republican nominee, Paste BN’s Susan Page, Sudiksha Kochi, Savannah Kuchar and Karissa Waddick report.

🔎 Open to alternatives: As the country heads towards a rematch between Biden and Trump, some voters told Paste BN they’re open to a third-party candidate if the right one emerges.

In a post-poll follow-up interview, Carl Hickey, 85, a retired Methodist minister from Monkton, Maryland, said: "We've got to do something that's different."

"The division has to stop; we have to work together."
