Do I need to register to vote?

Yes, you need to register to vote in Alabama. You can check your registration status on the Secretary of State’s website

How do I do that?

You can register to vote or update your existing voter registration online or by mailing in an Alabama Voter Registration form.  

What's the deadline?

The deadline to register is the 15th day before the General Election, October 21. 

Where do I find out where my polling site is?

You can find your polling site by entering your home address on the Secretary of State’s website.

Can I vote by mail?

Yes, Alabama allows voters to cast an “absentee” ballot by mail. 

What's the latest date I can turn in my ballot?

If you send your absentee ballot in by mail, the Absentee Election Manager must receive it no later than noon on Election Day. If it's hand-delivered, the ballot must be in the office of the Absentee Election Manager no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 4, the day before the election.
