Do I need to register to vote?

Yes. You can check your registration status on Indiana’s Voter Portal.  

How do I do that?

Indiana’s Voter Portal directs individuals to register online. To start, you simply need an Indiana driver’s license or Identification Card Number.  

What's the deadline?

The deadline to register is Monday, October 7. Certain military members and their relatives have until 12 p.m. local time on Tuesday, November 5 to register.  

Where do I find out where my polling site is?

You can find the location of where to cast your vote on Indiana’s Voter Portal. You can search by voter registration or by county and precinct.  

Can I vote by mail?

Yes. Individuals can request a "vote by mail" application. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is October 24 at 11:59 p.m. local time. 

What's the latest date I can turn in my ballot?

If you’re turning in an absentee ballot in-person, you must submit it by Monday, Nov. 4, the day before the General Election. Mailed-in absentee ballots must be received by Tuesday, Nov. 5 by 6 p.m local time.  

Is there a way I can track my ballot?

Yes, voters can track the status of their ballot through Indiana’s Voter Portal

What if I need help getting to the polling site?

Indiana voters can request the assistance of a bi-partisan traveling board that will deliver a person’s ballot and assist them with completing it during the 19-day period before Election Day. This option is available to individuals with disabilities, those confined to their home and those who are unable to complete a ballot on their own.
