Do I need to register to vote?

Yes, you need to register to vote in Pennsylvania. You can check your voter registration status with your name or driver’s license/DOT ID online

How do I do that?

You can register to vote online, by mail or in person at your county election office, or at Penn DOT and many other government agencies. You must be a citizen of the U.S. for at least one month before the election, a resident of Pennsylvania for at least 30 days, and be at least 18 years old on the day of the election. 

What's the deadline?

The deadline to register is 15 days before the election - Oct. 21.

Where do I find out where my polling site is?

You can find your polling place entering your address on a tool on the Pennsylvania Department of State website. 

Can I vote by mail?

Yes, any registered voter in Pennsylvania can apply for a mail-in ballot. You can apply online, in person or by mail, but your application must be received by your county election office by 5 p.m. on Oct. 29.  

What's the latest date I can turn in my ballot?

Polls are open on Election Day until 8 p.m. If returning your mail-in or absentee ballot, your completed ballot must be received by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 – a postmark by that time is not sufficient. 

Is there a way I can track my ballot?

You can track your mail-in or absentee ballot using a tool on the Pennsylvania Department of State website. 

What if I need help getting to the polling site?

In addition to the option for a mail-in ballot, registered voters who can’t make it to their polling place on Election Day because of illness, disability, work or travel can apply for an absentee ballot. Voters with disabilities can also apply to mark their mail-in or absentee ballot electronically through the accessible remote ballot-marking solution.
