Former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz is following the precedent set by another former Republican who left Congress in the wake of a scandal. He's opened his own Cameo account.

A day after withdrawing his name from consideration as President-elect Donald Trump's choice for U.S. Attorney General, Gaetz has opened his own account on the app that lets users pay for custom video greetings from celebrities.

A cameo spokesperson confirmed to the News Journal that Gaetz had opened an account on Friday.

Former U.S. Rep. George Santos, R-New York, joined Cameo after being expelled from Congress last year when a House Ethics Committee report concluded he had misused campaign funds for his own benefit.

Gaetz resigned from Congress after Trump named him as Attorney General, but his Senate confirmation was weighed down by allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use that were set to be detailed in a House Ethics Committee report. Gaetz vehemently denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

Gaetz's page on Cameo describes him as a former Congressman and alludes to his battle with former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

"I served in Congress. Trump nominated me to be US Attorney General (that didn’t work out). Once I fired the House Speaker," Gaetz's Cameo bio reads.

Gaetz was initially charging $250 for a video, but by late Friday afternoon, that price had been increased to $500 a video.

He joins other celebrities charging $500, including world wrestling superstar Ric Flair, Trump's favorite patriotic singer Lee Greenwood, The Who's frontman Roger Dahltry and Detroit Pistons NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas. At the $250 threshold, you can send a video greeting from Santos, the voice actor of Winnie the Pooh, former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Antonio Brown, Actor Corey Feldman, Dog the Bounty Hunter and the former president of Mexico Vicente Fox.
