Watch live: President-elect Donald Trump set to hold press conference at Mar-a-Lago
Weeks before taking office, President-elect Donald Trump was set to hold a news conference from his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Tuesday.
It was unclear what Trump planned to discuss at the news conference, which comes less than two weeks away from his inauguration, scheduled for Jan. 20. The press conference was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET, according to reposts by Trump on his Truth Social account.
Trump, who held a New Year's Eve gala at the club, filed an appeal in New York on Tuesday to dismiss his hush-money case before sentencing. The 78-year-old became the first U.S. president, sitting or former, to be charged with and convicted of a crime last year. On Monday, Justice Juan Merchan rejected Trump's lawyers' attempt to delay the sentencing while they appealed two of his previous rulings.
