Watch: President Donald Trump takes oath for second time at indoor inauguration
Four years after leaving the White House, Donald Trump is once again the president of the United States.
Trump was sworn in as the 47th U.S. president Monday at an inauguration ceremony held inside the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol after sub-zero temperatures altered the traditionally outdoor event.
Video shows Trump reciting the oath of office, repeating after Chief Justice John Roberts in the presence of several family members, including his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, eldest son Donald Trump Jr. and youngest son Barron Trump.
"I, Donald John Trump do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God," he said at the swearing-in ceremony.
Vice President JD Vance also took an oath, placing his hand on a Bible that belonged to his great-grandmother while in the company of his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance.
Later in the day, Trump delivered his inauguration speech, where he vowed to issue a plethora of executive orders, from only two recognized genders to declaring a national emergency at the southern border. Former President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden departed the Capitol following the ceremony.
