Melania Trump's portrait: White House unveils official photo of first lady

The White House released an official portrait of first lady Melania Trump, one week after her husband, President Donald Trump, was sworn into office.
The onetime fashion model was photographed by the Belgian photographer Régine Mahaux in the Yellow Oval Room, one of three oval-shaped rooms on the second floor of the White House Jan. 21, a day before the couple's 20th wedding anniversary and a day after the Inauguration.
Trump and Vice President JD Vance also released official portraits days before the official presidential transition took place.
The 54-year-old returned to the official residence with her family on the first day of Trump's second term in office. Melania Trump is the second first lady born outside of the U.S. and the first to become a naturalized citizen, according to the White House.
While it's not immediately clear what projects or charitable endeavors the first lady will tackle during her husband's second term, she has previously "focused on the many issues affecting children across the Nation." She also has a "deep appreciation" for the military and their families.
