Watch live: NYC Mayor Eric Adams holds press conference after DOJ moves to drop charges

New York Mayor Eric Adams is scheduled to deliver a live address Tuesday following the news he could soon be rid of his corruption indictment.
A President Donald Trump-appointed official at the Department of Justice issued a memo Monday directing Manhattan prosecutors to drop the five counts of corruption Adams was hit with in September, multiple news outlets reported, including the New York Times, Reuters and the Associated Press.
Trump, who has often blamed his own criminal charges on political motivations, has appeared sympathetic towards Adams in recent months, even though they sit on opposite sides of the political aisle. The DOJ memo stated the indictment interfered with Adams' 2025 reelection campaign and his efforts to deal with illegal immigration and violent crime.
