Watch live: President Trump, Elon Musk hold press conference

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are set to address media in the White House on Friday, May 30, after the tech billionaire officially announced he was parting ways with the administration.

Musk, who helped establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), announced May 28 he was stepping down from the Trump administration. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO was brought on as a "special government employee," by Trump earlier this year.

"This will be his last day, but not really, because he will, always, be with us, helping all the way. Elon is terrific!" Trump said in a Truth Social post on May 29.

The news conference is scheduled to be held in the White House's Oval House at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, May 30.
