Politics dominate Sunday talk shows, but at least George Clooney is on


It will be nearly all politics all the time Sunday morning as the candidates, their staff and other party officials make the rounds of the talk shows.

Sen. Bernie Sanders will try to gain more traction in Tuesday's New York Democratic primary by hitting three of the shows, while his opponent, front-runner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, will appear on just one. Ohio Gov. John Kasich, hoping to close the large gap between him and his GP opponents, will also appear on one show. Those opponents, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and front-runner Donald Trump, are sending others to represent them on the morning shows.

Here's a look at the lineup: 

• NBC’s Meet the Press: Actor George Clooney will discuss campaign finance reform and note that he thinks it's "obscene" how much money is in politics. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory, under fire for a new LGBT-opposed "bathroom bill," Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and Democratic National Committee Chair Sen. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will also appear. Radio show host Hugh Hewitt, American Urban Radio Networks' April Ryan, syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker and MSNBC's Chris Matthews will be at the roundtable.

• ABC’s This Week: Clinton, Sanders, Trump campaign convention manager Paul Manafort and Cruz campaign delegate operations director Ken Cuccinelli are the announced guests. Roundtable participants include political analyst Matthew Dowd, syndicated columnist Roland Martin, political consultant Mary Matalin and former labor secretary and professor Robert Reich.

• CBS’s Face the Nation: Sanders. Priebus; National Institutes of Health director and physician Anthony Fauci and former Obama campaign and White House adviser David Axelrod. Roundtable guests will include New Yorker's Amy Davidson, National Journal's Ron Fournier, syndicated columnist Clarence Page and Paste BN's Susan Page.

• Fox News Sunday: Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and Fauci. The roundtable will include syndicated columnist George Will, AP's Julie Pace, radio talk show host Laura Ingraham and Real Clear Politics' Rebecca Berg The Power Player of the Week segment will feature Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michelle Howard.

• CNN’s State of the Union: Sanders, Kasich and Priebus. The roundtable will feature former South Carolina state Rep. Bakari Sellers, political consultant and former Cruz spokeswoman Amanda Carpenter, former Ohio Democratic state Sen. Nina Turner and former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, a Republican.
