NASHUA, N.H. — Federal officials charged a New Hampshire man Monday with threatening to attack presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and area voters attending a campaign event Monday.

Tyler Anderson, 30, of Dover, allegedly replied to a campaign text message about a breakfast meet and greet with a series of threatening text messages, according to court documents.

“Great, another opportunity for me to blow his brains out,” Anderson wrote, threatening in a second message to kill and sexually assault other people attending the event.

Ramaswamy was not named in charging documents against Anderson, but a spokesperson from his campaign confirmed he was the target of the messages.

“We are grateful to law enforcement for their swiftness and professionalism in handling this matter and pray for the safety of all Americans,” Stefan Mychajliw, Ramaswamy's deputy communications director, said in a statement to Paste BN.

Anderson allegedly sent similar text messages to at least one other presidential candidate, according to a court affidavit, writing "Hope you have the stamina for a mass shooting!" He was charged with transmitting an interstate threat and is set to appear in court on Monday afternoon.
