She's the Speaker Emerita, a newly published author, and has served in politics for more than 40 years, but her journey in the public sphere isn't over yet.

Representative Nancy Pelosi, 84, the longest-serving member of California's congressional delegation, said she will seek another term in the U.S. Congress this November. If she wins, it will mark her 20th term in office.

Despite her many achievements, she has said on X that "there's no privilege greater than going to the Floor of the House and saying, I speak for the people of San Francisco."

Hoping to keep representing her San Francisco district, Pelosi is running against Republican business owner and political newbie Bruce Lou, who claimed about 8% of the nonpartisan primary vote compared to Pelosi's 70%, to represent California's 11th District. She has already served San Francisco for over 35 years.

Besides seeking another term in Congress, Pelosi has been busy promoting her new book "The Art of Power: My Story as America's First Woman Speaker of the House."

Amid her speaking engagements for the book, the California congresswoman made headlines for her comments about President Joe Biden in an interview with The New Yorker including that she's “never been that impressed” by Biden’s "political operation."

First elected to Congress in 1987, Pelosi made history by becoming the first female speaker in 2007, and in 2019, she regained the speaker’s gavel. She decided not to seek reelection to lead the House Democrats in 2022, making way for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries to take over but remains an influential powerbroker both on and off Capitol Hill.
