Minyon Moore, a Chicago native with exceptionally close ties to President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is also the chair of the 2024 Democratic National Convention Committee, which kicked off on Monday.
So, who is she?A long-time Democratic political advisor, Moore got her start in politics working on Rev. Jesse Jackson’s 1984 presidential campaign. From there, she worked in former President Bill Clinton’s White House and the former CEO of the Democratic National Committee.

After President Joe Biden stepped aside and cleared the field for Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the Democratic ticket in July, Moore has worked behind the scenes to “slightly” restructure the convention’s program to highlight Harris’ values and introduce her to American voters.
Minyon Moore’s past White House roles
She worked under the Biden-Harris Administration as the Nomination Advisor for Engagement where she mobilized a nationwide outreach effort to confirm the first African-American woman on the United States Supreme Court, Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Moore also worked as an Assistant to the President and Director of White House Political Affairs during the Clinton Administration. In that role, she was the principal political adviser to former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and senior White House staff. While working for the Clinton Administration, her primary responsibilities included planning outreach and directing the political activities of the White House.
