Who is Ashley Biden? What to know about the president's youngest daughter
Ashley Biden, President Joe Biden’s youngest child, painted a personal picture of her father on night one of the Democratic National Convention. She shared memories of growing up and watching her father’s political career.
“Joe Biden is the OG girl dad,” she said. "Dad always told me that I was no better than anybody else, and nobody was better than me. He taught me that everyone deserves a fair shot and that we shouldn't leave anyone behind. That's what you learn from a fighter who has been underestimated his entire life.”
Her speech, which served as Biden’s introduction, brought the president to tears. On stage, he hugged her and wiped his eyes with a tissue.
“That was my daughter!” he exclaimed. “I love you.”
It was the beginning of a heartfelt end to the first night of the Democratic convention, which paid tribute to the president who ended his re-election campaign last month, paving the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to take the nomination.
