Watch Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz offers 'cautionary tale' in DNC convention speech

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., spoke at the third night of the Democratic National Convention, talking about conservative policies that have passed in her home state of Florida.

She represents part of South Florida, a liberal part of the state that has become a staunch Republican electorate over the last couple of decades. But with Vice President Kamala Harris' rising popularity, some polls show the tide might be turning.

She compared Florida's far-right laws on abortion, LGBTQ+ rights and diversity curriculums to the threat of Project 2025.

"We can't let them do to America what they did to Florida," Wasserman Schultz said.

The Democratic convention is happening Monday through Thursday at Chicago's United Center. Chicago has hosted the Democratic Convention 11 times, most recently in 1996 when the United Center saw President Bill Clinton was nominated for a second time.
