WASHINGTON- Former First Lady Melania Trump said in an interview that the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago search in 2022 as part of an investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents was an “invasion of privacy.”

It made me angry. Yes. Invasion of privacy. And, the way it was done…I was really surprised,” Trump said during an interview with Fox & Friends that aired this week.

Melania Trump said she saw “unpleasant stuff that nobody wants to see” after the Mar-a-Lago search.

“And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff. Some person I don’t even know who or how many people they, you know, they went through my stuff,” she said.

Donald Trump was indicted on 40 federal charges over allegations that he improperly and unlawfully stored classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving the White House in 2021. Some of the charges include willful retention of national defense information in violation of the Espionage Act and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Melania Trump also reflected on the assassination attempts against her husband. The former president was targeted in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a rally in July and at his golf course in Florida earlier this month.

“I think both of the events - they were really a miracles,” she said. “If you really think about it, the July 13, was a miracle. Like that much and he could, you know, he could not be with us.”
