With just eight days remaining until the general election, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, are returning to the battleground states for their final full week of campaigning before Nov. 5.

Polls show the rival candidates are neck-and-neck in the Rust Belt trio of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and the Sun Belt quartet of Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.

With just over a week until Election Day, more than 38 million votes have already been cast.

On Monday, Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be in Ann Arbor for a joint rally and concert series featuring a performance by singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers. Ahead of the rally, the vice president will be in Saginaw and Macomb, Michigan.

Harris' visit to Michigan will be her tenth since becoming the party's nominee. The state is still scarred by the loss of over a third of its auto-related jobs since 1990 and backed Trump in 2016, while Biden won by less than three percentage points in 2020.

The Democratic presidential campaign has over 375 staff members in the state, nearly four times Trump's, yet a FiveThirtyEight compilation of polls shows Harris has less than a one percentage point edge over the former president in the state.

Both major party vice presidential nominees will campaign in Wisconsin on Monday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, part of the Paste BN network.

Walz will travel to Manitowoc and Waukesha, while Republican vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance is expected to be in Wausau.

On Tuesday, one week before the general election, Harris will give a speech at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., aiming to sway last-minute voters. The campaign expects nearly 20,000 people, based on the permit application filed with the National Park Service.

According to campaign officials, Walz will visit Georgia on Tuesday for early voting events in Savannah and Columbus.

Harris plans to visit every swing state in the coming days, including another trek to Wisconsin on Wednesday for a rally and concert with folk rock band Mumford & Sons in Madison.

And on Thursday, two Mexican groups that denounced Trump's anti-immigrant rhetoric will support Harris in the lead-up to the election, as first reported by Rolling Stone.

Los Tigres Del Norte will perform at a campaign event in Phoenix, Arizona, where the vice president is expected to speak, according to the Arizona Republic, part of the Paste BN Network. Afterward, she'll head to Las Vegas to join Maná in reaching out to undecided Latino voters in both battleground states.
