Videos capture American voters reacting to Trump winning the 2024 presidential election

As 2024's tumultuous election cycle draws nearer to an end, millions of Americans across the U.S. woke up this morning to news of a Donald Trump presidential win. Some never went to sleep, instead opting to watch results roll in as Trump delivered a victory speech around 2:30 a.m. ET and the Associated Press officially called the race at 5:35 a.m.

For Trump's supporters, his return to the White House after an attack on the U.S. Capitol in 2021, two impeachments, two assassination attempts and a 34-count felony conviction, signified a great victory and a sigh of relief after the states swung blue in 2020.

For Harris supporters, the results came not only as a surprise but a crushing blow, leaving many to wonder what the future will hold for democracy and some of the most vulnerable members of the population.

On both sides, reactions were and continue to be strong. From cheers in the streets to tearful expressions of shock, watch scenes from key states here.

While Trump supporters in several states, especially deep red ones like Florida, took to local bars, streets, homes and campuses to celebrate Trump's win, Harris voters expressed disappointment, alarm and even despair.

"I'm going to go home frustrated and a little confused," said one Pennsylvania voter who was surprised the state went to Trump with a 50.6% lead despite Philadeplhia's concatenation of blue voters.
