Trump 'victory' cologne hits resale market after a campaign trail of merch

After a campaign filled with merchandise from sneakers to watches, a cologne commemorating President-elect Donald Trump has sold out.

The "victory" cologne, priced at $119 an online store called "Trump Sneakers" before it sold out, has picked up on the reselling market, with multiple sales over $150 made on eBay since Election Day.

The cologne is the "signature scent of strength and success, encased in a luxurious gold bottle," according to Trump Sneakers, the online store selling Trump merchandise.

The fragrance is yet another product in the large collection of merchandise promoting Trump after items such as coins, watches, sneakers, Bibles, digital trading cards and hats were released while he was on the campaign trail.

Watches, sneakers, NFTs and more

Trump's branded merchandise is aplenty as the businessman-turned-politician continually grew his collection throughout 2024, including the announcement of a line of watches last month.

“There’s no precedent in history at all, and certainly not in modern history, for somebody who has monetized the office or running for office of president the way he has,” Don Fox, former general counsel for the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, told the Washington Post about Trump.

Three different watches were offered for pre-order − including the standard "Red Silver Tone Fight Fight Fight" watch for $499, an "Onyx Gold Tone" version of the same watch for $799 and a premium "Trump Victory Tourbillon" for $100,000.

"Would make a great Christmas Gift. Don’t wait, they will go fast," Trump said in a Truth Social last month.

In addition to watches, colognes and sneakers, Trump sold limited-edition silver coins priced at $100, "God Bless The USA" Bibles, "Make American Great Again" (MAGA) hats and NFT trading cards.

Who makes Donald Trump's colognes and sneakers?

Trump is not bottling the cologne himself, as CIC Ventures LLC, a foreign limited liability company based in West Palm Beach, Florida, reserved the rights to the "Trump" name, according to the disclaimer found at the bottom of the Trump Sneakers website and Florida Department of State records.

The company allows 45Footwear, a limited liability company formed in Wyoming, to use Trump's name, likeness, and image under a paid license.

It is unclear if Trump is involved in the company, but Florida Department of State records show that John B Marion IV manages it. Marion is an attorney from West Palm Beach who has worked for Trump as counsel, local media has previously reported.

Although the website says it and its products are "not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign," the frequently asked questions (FAQ) tab states, "Yes, these are only official Golf Shoes, Sneakers & Fragrances by President Trump!"

The FAQ page does say that none of the money from the company's collection of products went toward Trump's campaign.

"45Footwear is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates," according to the FAQ page.
