President-elect Donald Trump has been moving at breakneck speed as he sets up his administration for his second term.

It has been less than a month since he won the election, and he has already named most of his Cabinet nominees and several other senior White House positions. In that time he has also replaced Matt Gaetz with a new pick for attorney general after Gaetz dropped out over ongoing controversy about previous investigations into sexual misconduct.

Trump has also touted some day-one plans, including hitting Mexico, Canada and China with import tariffs, prompting a warning from the country's biggest trade partner that doing so could hurt both economies.

But any trade moves will still have to wait for at least seven more weeks until Trump is sworn into the Oval Office again.

How long until Inauguration Day?

Trump's inauguration is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2025 in Washington, D.C.

Latest news from the presidential transition

Trump has named nearly all of his Cabinet-level nominations in the short few weeks since he won the election. Many are known loyalists to Trump and served in his previous agenda, setting Trump up to move quickly on his day-one agenda.

Among those plans he recently announced, is to impose a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada, and an additional 10% tariff on goods from China. He also promised to move immediately to deport undocumented immigrants, as he has touted on the campaign trail.

The holiday week brought some mayhem to Trump's Cabinet picks, as several of them were the target of bomb threats and swatting attacks in the days leading up to Thanksgiving.

Meanwhile, Trump's Thanksgiving message called out the "Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country."

Also, a federal judge dismissed the charges against Trump for allegedly trying to steal the 2020 election.
