Rep. Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla., shut down rumors Tuesday that he could be leaving Capitol Hill to join President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration.

Moskowitz was rumored to be Trump's top contender to lead the Federal Emergency Management Agency, CNN first reported Monday.

The Florida Democrat has emerged as a leading voice for bipartisanship among the left. He was the first House Democrat to join the House Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus, a mini caucus working in tandem with the new Department of Government Efficiency, created by Trump and headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

“I think there’s always areas for bipartisanship,” Moskowitz previously told Paste BN “Bipartisanship is not dead.”

But despite reports that he could become the first elected Democrat tapped to join Trump's team, Moskowitz said Tuesday he's not going anywhere.

"I appreciate the speculation but I am staying in Congress and running for re-election," Moskowitz wrote in a post on X. "It’s an honor to serve the people of Florida’s 23rd district."

Before being elected to Congress in 2022, Moskowitz served in Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' cabinet as the state's emergency management coordinator during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump has moved swiftly since winning the 2024 presidential election to start assembling his second administration Cabinet. Among his picks so far are former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy for Secretary of Health and Human Services and Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence.

Following his initial statement Tuesday afternoon, Moskowitz added in a follow-up post, "To be clear, nothing was ever offered."
