JD Vance is a relatively new to the political scene.
On Jan. 20, the former junior senator from Ohio will become the United States' vice president. He'll be sworn in prior to President-elect Donald Trump at the Capitol on Inauguration Day.
When he's sworn in, he'll be become the third-youngest vice president in American history.
Vance told Paste BN in September he expects his job will be "very active."

But who is JD Vance and what about his family? Here are answers to those questions.
Who is JD Vance?
JD Vance was an Ohio senator before being tapped by Trump as his vice presidential running mate. Vance was elected to the Senate in 2022 and sworn into office Jan. 3, 2023.
Who were JD Vance's parents?
Vance was born James Donald Bowman to parents Donald Ray Bowman and Beverly Carol Bowman. They divorced when he was very young.
Vance and his sister, Lindsey, were raised primarily by his maternal grandparents, James and Bonnie Vance, who they called "Papaw" and "Mamaw."
Vance described his childhood in his best-selling 2016 memoir, "Hillbilly Elegy." Vance's mother struggled with drug addiction, so he spent many of his formative years with his grandmother. Vance served as a public affairs officer in the Marine Corps in Iraq.
He has said his grandmother was his saving grace.
"Her tough love and discipline kept him on the straight and narrow. A 'blue dog' Democrat, she owned 19 handguns and nurtured a deep Christian faith in herself and her family," Vance's Senate website said.
Is JD Vance married?
Yes. Vance is married to Usha Chilukuri, a trial lawyer, and a child of Indian immigrants who was born and raised in the suburbs of San Diego, California, according to the BBC.
The two met at Yale. While there, they organized a discussion group on the subject of "social decline in white America," according to The New York Times.
The couple were married in 2014.
