Bill Clinton sends good wishes to former golf partner Rory McIlroy

Hey, Rory McIlroy, you just won the British Open ... got time for a round with a former president?

Bill Clinton sent his congratulations to the young Irish golfer via Twitter, asking McIlroy to keep him in mind on his next visit to Ireland.

Clinton and McIlroy hit the links together in October 2013 at Portmarnock Golf Club north of Dublin, where the former president said his playing partner was hitting long and accurately despite some bad weather. "It was very cold. I got off to a good start and then I just cratered in the cold and wind," Clinton told the Golf Channel.

Clinton is popular among McIlroy's fellow Irishmen for helping to negotiate the 1998 Good Friday peace agreement.
