Bill Clinton to rally Louisiana voters for Mary Landrieu
Bill Clinton's campaign itinerary takes him to Louisiana Monday for a rally with vulnerable Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu.
Landrieu, who is seeking a fourth term, is in a tight race with Republican Rep. Bill Cassidy and Tea Party-backed Rob Maness. If no one gets 50% of the vote, a runoff will be held Dec. 6.
Clinton's appearance with Landrieu in Baton Rouge is timed to rally Democrats ahead of early voting, which begins Tuesday and runs through Oct. 28. This is the second time the former president has traveled to Louisiana for Landrieu, one of several Democratic incumbents from conservative states facing tough re-election fights.
Clinton is his party's favorite campaigner in chief, traveling to states and districts where President Obama is unpopular. Clinton was in New Hampshire Thursday for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Gov. Maggie Hassan and heads this weekend to his home state of Arkansas where Sen. Mark Pryor is locked in a battle with GOP Rep. Tom Cotton.
