Democrats kept Bill Clinton very, very busy in the 2014 elections

Bill Clinton was like the Energizer bunny this year on behalf of Democrats.

The former president traveled to about half the states, headlined over 20 rallies and fundraisers, recorded 30 robocalls, sent out mailers, cut videos and more, according to a list of campaign activities provided by his office.

Clinton's home state of Arkansas got lots of love, with multiple visits to help boost Sen. Mark Pryor, gubernatorial hopeful Mike Ross, and Pat Hays and James Lee Witt in their bids for Congress. Clinton also was no stranger to Kentucky voters, as he campaigned for Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in her bid to oust Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell.

And it wasn't just Democrats running for Congress and governor who got support from Clinton. He helped raise money for Seth Magaziner, who is running for state treasurer in Rhode Island, and also helped fill the campaign coffers of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former aide who isn't even on the ballot until next year.  Ira Magaziner, the Rhode Island candidate's father, was a Clinton policy adviser and is currently CEO and chairman of the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

People who see Clinton work the crowds, take selfies and rally voters know there's no better practitioner of retail politics. He even jokes about his unofficial role as campaigner in chief for the Democratic Party.

"I feel like an old racehorse in a stable, and people just take me out and put me on the track and slap me on the rear to see if I can get around one more time," Clinton said during a New Hampshire rally last month.
