Carly Fiorina hires GOP spokeswoman
Carly Fiorina has hired a top spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, as the former Hewlett-Packard CEO considers running for president in 2016.
Sarah Isgur Flores, deputy communications director for the RNC, said she'll be moving to Fiorina's Unlocking Potential PAC.
CNN, which was first to report the hire, said Flores would serve as deputy campaign manager should Fiorina transform the PAC and its operations into a campaign effort.
Fiorina, the only Republican woman said to be considering a White House bid, has been stepping up her appearances in key early presidential states. She lost a 2010 race for the U.S. Senate to Democratic incumbent Barbara Boxer.
Fiorina is a confirmed speaker later this month at the Iowa Freedom Summit, sponsored by Rep. Steve King and Citizens United. The event has attracted several other potential 2016 presidential candidates to Iowa, home of the nation's first presidential caucus.
Flores, a Harvard Law School graduate, is a former political director for Sen. Ted Cruz and an adviser to Mitt Romney in 2012. She said in a statement that she's "excited to get to work with Carly Fiorina, who is a sharp, thoughtful and committed conservative leader."
