Hillary Clinton tweet on e-mails viewed 3.3 million times

Hillary Rodham Clinton's only comment so far about the controversy over her use of a private e-mail account came via Twitter.

But those few words have been seen 3.3 million times, according to Twitter. That includes over 1 million impressions (showing up in a user's timeline or search results) on Twitter and 2.3 million on websites where Clinton's tweet was embedded.

Democrats have been rallying around Clinton, saying the flap is unlikely to resonate when voters go to the polls in November 2016.

Bloomberg Politics reported Clinton and her team have adopted a strategy perfected while Bill Clinton was in office, making sure to "take a concrete step to ease the pressure, then wait out the storm." Republicans, of course, believe Clinton has to answer questions that continue to mount and not wait for the State Department to release e-mails as she has requested.

"They're making a big mistake by not letting her come out," former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer is quoted as saying.
