Hillary Clinton's e-mails spark Facebook chatter
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s e-mails helped spark a debate on Facebook, especially when she finally broke her silence about her use of a private account while serving as secretary of State.
There were more than 2.3 million Facebook interactions — likes, posts, comments and shares — about Clinton on March 10 when she described using a private e-mail account as a matter of "convenience," according to data provided to Paste BN. The day after the news conference, interactions about the likely Democratic presidential candidate hit nearly 2 million.
As you might expect, interactions about Clinton jumped after TheNew York Times broke the news about her use of a private e-mail system, going from about 319,000 on March 2 to more than 1 million by the next day.
Andy Stone, a Facebook spokesman, told Paste BN the topics most frequently discussed on the social site about Clinton involve the topics of government ethics, foreign policy and international relations.
