Reports: Clinton campaign headquarters chosen in Brooklyn
In a signal that the launch of the Hillary Clinton presidential bid may be getting very close, a lease for office space in Brooklyn that would house her campaign has been signed, according to Politico and MSNBC.
The reports indicate that the campaign headquarters would comprise two full floors in an office building at 1 Pierrepont Plaza in Brooklyn Heights.
A decision on a headquarters could be a significant move in setting a timetable for the kick-off of her campaign. The Federal Election Commission mandates that a prospective candidate has 15 days after initiating a campaign activity to file a campaign committee. MSNBC, which based its report on "sources familiar with the matter," notes that it is not apparent when the lease was signed or by whom.
Clinton's headquarters for her 2008 presidential campaign were located in Virginia, just outside of Washington.
