Martin O'Malley pitches 'road ahead' with new video
After mixing with voters in Iowa and New Hampshire, Martin O'Malley says he's "humbled" by what he has heard.
"I am encouraged and look forward to the road ahead," the former Maryland governor says in an email to supporters.
The "road ahead" is increasingly looking like it will include a presidential campaign for O'Malley, who also sent a short video from one of his recent appearances in an early nominating state. The clip includes a line from his stump speech extolling the virtues of the Statute of Liberty as a symbol of America that drew a standing ovation.
O'Malley's video comes the day after Hillary Clinton formally jumped into the presidential race. The former governor has been outspoken that the Democratic nomination shouldn't be a coronation.
"There are moments in our history when new leadership is needed to move our country forward," O'Malley says in his fundraising email. "This is one of them."
