If it's Sunday, it's a white guy hosting a talk show
CNN announced Friday that chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper will be the new host of State of the Union, the network's Sunday talk show, creating an all-white male lineup of anchors on the major Sunday shows.
Tapper takes over from senior political correspondent Candy Crowley, who had hosted the show since 2010. She stepped down from CNN in December. Tapper will start the new post in June, but will continue his weekday news program for CNN as well.
Here's the lineup Tapper joins:
John Dickerson
CBS announced April 12 that Dickerson, the network's political director, will take over Face the Nation when Bob Schieffer retires this summer.
George Stephanopolous
The eternally boyish former Bill Clinton aide hosted ABC's This Week from 2002 to 2010, handed the job off to Christiane Amanpour and then took it back at the end of 2011.
Chris Wallace
Wallace left ABC News in 2003 to take over hosting Fox News Sunday, replacing former George W. Bush press secretary Tony Snow.
Chuck Todd
Last summer, NBC tapped political director Todd to take over Meet the Press, replacing David Gregory after a six-year stint.
