Why Larry Flynt endorses Hillary Clinton for president

Hillary Clinton probably won't care, but Larry Flynt of Hustler fame is endorsing her for president.

The reason is simple, Flynt explained in a Bloomberg Politics interview: Clinton could have a chance of appointing several Supreme Court justices if she wins the White House.

"We've had a right-leaning court for half a century," Flynt told John Heilemann of Bloomberg Politics. "But if Hillary gets in, chances are she's going to have an opportunity to appoint two, maybe three justices ... and we could shift the balance there."

Flynt sounds like he doesn't care that women who support Clinton will probably be in an uproar about a purveyor of porn endorsing their candidate. "People in Gloria Steinem's world, they don't -- they think I'm the misogynist of the century," he said, before laughing and adding: "I'm sure that Hillary doesn't necessarily approve of everything I do."

Flynt, who has used his magazine to attack Republicans and religious conservatives, supported Bill Clinton during his impeachment. He famously offered up to $1 million during the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal to anyone who could provide information on sexual improprieties by a Clinton critic. Flynt took credit for the downfall of Bob Livingston, who was poised to become House speaker but acknowledged he had been unfaithful to his wife.
