Dean revives 'the Dean Scream' to taunt Christie

Howard Dean revived one of the most famous moments in campaign primary history -- the "Dean Scream" of 2004 -- to taunt prospective Republican candidate Chris Christie.

Speaking Thursday to a roomful of Democrats in Atlantic City, Dean said this of New Jersey's Republican governor: "You can't win in Nevada, and you're not going to win in South Carolina, and you're not going to win in New Hampshire, and you're not going to win anywhere else, and you're going to be right back here in the state of New Jersey, and you're going to be out of a job! "

Then came the revival of the scream: "YEAH!!!"

Dean famously recited a similar litany -- though he predicted he would win those states -- after losing the 2004 Iowa caucuses to eventual Democratic nominee John Kerry.

Reports NJ Advance Media:

"The original 'Dean Scream' was from his 2004 presidential campaign, when the one-time frontrunner for the Democratic nomination finished a distant third in the Iowa caucus. Tonight's came at the kickoff of the annual Democratic State Conference.

"Dean then launched into a rapid fire speech castigating Christie for skipping pension payments (something done by several of his Democratic predecessors) and Republicans in general for not doing enough to help with burdens of student loans, and the need for early childhood education."
