Trump to make announcement on June 16
Will he or won't he?
Businessman Donald Trump, who flirted with a presidential bid four years ago, will announce June 16 whether he will pursue the Republican nomination next year, according to an email from his people.
"Mr. Donald J. Trump will be making an announcement to the press and public on June 16th as to whether or not he will run for President of the United States of America," says the announcement.
Trump declined a 2012 race so that he could continue hosting his television show, The Apprentice.
This year, he has again been making the rounds of early battleground states.
"Trump finished in the top 10 of a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday, which could have implications for GOP debates should he decide to run. Fox News, host of the first debate on Aug. 6, has announced it would cap participation based on finishing in the top 10 of polls leading up to the debate.
"The Quinnipiac poll also found that 21% of Republican voters said they would definitely not support Trump, the highest number for any of the announced and prospective GOP candidates."
