Walker to announce presidential bid July 13

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to formally announce his presidential campaign on July 13, aides say.

Walker, who has long been campaigning, will file paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday and make his announcement July 13 in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha.

Two aides confirmed the plans on condition of anonymity, pending a formal announcement.

The news breaks on the same day that President Obama visits Wisconsin to promote new rules for overtime pay, a policy that has been criticized by Walker and other Republicans.
