Jeb Bush super PAC launches advertising blitz
The super PAC backing Jeb Bush's bid for the Republican presidential nomination plans to spend at least $10 million on its first major television campaign to promote his candidacy in early voting states.
Right to Rise will begin placing media buys Monday for the spots, which will start Sept. 15 in New Hampshire and Iowa and the following week in South Carolina, spokesman Paul Lindsay said. The advertising will run through the end of December in all three states.
Lindsay called the buy the "first phase of our sustained campaign to independently" support Bush.
The Associated Press, which first reported the group's advertising plans, said initial commercials will be positive spots promoting Bush and his record as Florida governor. Future ads, however, could confront other candidates in the crowded GOP contest, the AP reported.
Federal Election Commission records show Right to Rise has spent more than $200,000 so far, mostly on digital advertising.
