Girl asks Clinton: Will you be paid as much as a male president?

At a Nevada rally this week for Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton, a child asked a question about equal pay. But she had a slightly different take on it:

Do you think when you're president, you will be paid as much as if you were a man?

Her question drew hoots and cheers from the crowd. And from the candidate?

Oh my goodness. Well, this is one of the jobs where they have to pay you the same... But there are so many examples where that doesn't happen, where women doing the same job are not paid the same. So as president, I'm going to do everything I can to make sure not just the president is paid the same whether it's a woman or a man, but every woman in every job gets paid the same as a man who (is) doing that job.

In case you were curious, the president's annual salary is $400,000 — and is far below the $28 million Clinton and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, made last year.
