Huckabee to Carson: 'Pal, you ain't seen nothing yet'

Ben Carson says he's being unfairly targeted because of his rise in the polls, but at least one Republican opponent has a message for the retired doctor.

Get used to it.

Mike Huckabee told MSNBC on Monday that he doesn't want to argue about "what Ben did or didn't do," but he is taken aback by the claim that "people are looking into his personal life and they are going after" his candidacy.

"I'm thinking, pal, 'you ain't seen nothing yet,'" Huckabee said on MSNBC's Morning Joe.

News stories questioning Carson's statements about his past -- from actions at  school to a possible appointment to West Point -- are part and parcel of campaigning for president, Huckabee said.

"They have not yet come after your kids and the rest of your family -- they will," Huckabee said of Carson. "This is part of the part of the process. "

The former Arkansas governor who first sought the presidency in 2008 added that "this ain't bean bag, as we say. It is a brutal process. I've been through it for 26 years and life ain't fair."
