Which 2016er was searched most on Yahoo? The answer may surprise you
She may be registering a measly 3% in recent polls, but GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina has some people talking. Or at least searching.
The former HP executive was the most searched presidential hopeful in 2015 on Yahoo, according to the company’s year-end review released Wednesday.
Democratic candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton took the second and third spots followed by Republicans Ben Carson and Donald Trump.
Fiorina has had some headline-grabbing moments this year, particularly with feuds about her face. First, there was Trump (“Look at that face!” the real estate mogul said. “Would anyone vote for that?”). Then came the ladies of The View, one of whom said Fiorina looked “demented” during a debate.
Over the course of her candidacy, Fiorina has won plaudits for her debate performances. After a strong performance in the first GOP under-card debate in August, she gained enough in polls to make the primetime debates in September, October and November.
But she has fallen in recent surveys from double digits in September to the low single digits this week.
Some other fun facts from the Yahoo search year in review: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the top-searched international leaders and influencers, followed by Pope Francis; The death of Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was the most searched overall; and the top-searched cocktail? That was the Old Fashioned.
