Rubio wins support of Chaffetz

Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio now has the support of prominent conservative, Rep. Jason Chaffetz.

"Marco Rubio is a conservative leader who understands the challenges facing American families in the 21st century," Chaffetz said in a statement put out by the Rubio campaign. "I'm looking forward to hitting the campaign trail with Marco to talk about the future of our country and the importance of electing a next-generation conservative in 2016."

Chaffetz will join the Florida senator for a Friday event in Concord, N.H., the Rubio campaign said.

As chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Chaffetz has conducted a number of investigations into the Obama administration, including the performance of the Secret Service.

The Rubio campaign described Chaffetz as "a defender of limited government and conservative principles during his time in Congress."
