Senators Tillis and McCain make obligatory football bet
In advance of Sunday's NFC Championship game between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals, two Senators have made the obligatory playoff bet, but it is a wager of honor, not goodies.
Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C. and Sen. John McCain. R-Ariz., have made a bet that the loser will go to the Senate floor and make laudatory comments about the winning team, while adorned in that team's colors.
Not bad - but not as good as Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., singing "Meet the Mets" on the House floor after the New Yorkers beat his Dodgers.
McCain and Tillis promise "the delivery of a humbling Senate floor speech," but we'd rather hear McCain sing "I'm gone to Carolina in my mind."
